The Holualoa Inn was all that we expected and more. We had a beautiful room with a 180 degree view of the ocean! Chairs were available on an outside deck to take in the scenery also. The Inn definitely offers the feeling of 'Ohana , a real family feeling. All the hosts treated us that way. The beautiful breakfasts were tasty and creative and varied.. We filled out our suggestion card when we left and I made one suggestion that I thought might be helpful. I actually got a letter afterwards stating they would make that idea a reality!
The best place to stay on the big island in my opinion! Great views, amazing property, wonderful staff, delicious breakfasts, 100% Kona coffee from their property, and the rooms are prefect!
The pool area was also in great condition with comfortable furniture.
- better soundproofing on some rooms, or letting guests know to respect their neighbours ( unfortunately not everyone does this. The couple next to us one night were very loud).
The property was stunning and really clean.
We will definitely stay again if we visit the big island in the future. That view...
It was a beautiful stay and we would highly recommend it. My husband and I spend part of our 25th anniversary at the Holualoa Inn!

This inn is a real gem -- small and intimate with breathtaking views and warm inviting management that anticipates all your needs. Unfortunately our stay was cut short by a family medical emergency but we will definitely return. We stayed in the Darrell Cottage and loved the privacy and lanai. One word of caution -- no air conditioning -- but the island breezes coupled with moderate temperatures made it comfortable. Breakfasts and their coffee are delicious and there is a great restaurant within walking distance of this inn if you don't want to drive anywhere. Mahalo for a brief but very memorable stay.
Wonderful place to rest and enjoy a beautiful quiet and luxurious vacation, with a good base for seeing the high spots of the Big Island.
The bedding was luxurious and the room a great size with nice touches and quality extras (soaps etc).
